When using a firearm in training or tactical situations, the ability to precisely aim the firearm is desired, especially after the initial shot. This extends to recreational hunting and target sports shooting as well.
A number of training programs seek to improve a shooter’s ability to hold the firearm in a stable position, including techniques that focus on trigger manipulation and breathing cycles. Still, most shooters experience a degree of wobble or instability while aiming at a static target, especially after pulling the trigger, and discharging the weapon, and then trying to “re-aim” after the first shot due to recoil effects.
It is even more difficult to quickly fire successive shots, when it is a moving target, and/or the shooter themselves is not on a stable platform.
